Hello, I'm Dylan
Hi there! My name is Dylan Unruh and I grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I graduated from Northern State University in 2022 and went on to become a music educator for 2 years. However, I eventually decided to start my own business and pursue my passion of music by connecting with others through their stories and pianos. I'm a driven passionate perfectionist who is committed to the highest quality experiences I can give.
My Story
My story begins attending Northern State University 2018-2022. I applied last minute, moved out in an hour, and began my freshman year as a music performance major. In the following months I met my future wife, change my degree to education, and realized I have to have music be my career in some way. Fast forward and I'm in my first year of teaching band in a small town working my tail off, living what I thought was the dream, and getting to do it in tandem with my wife. But something is missing.

After my first year I began brainstorming what I really want to do and during the last weeks of school I call up a local piano tuner for a tuning and that is how I met Bob Downie (pictured to the left). He asked me a question "Do you want to learn how to tune pianos?" I thought about it every day the following summer and after my first week teaching my second year, I call him. He takes me tuning the following week and I make the decision that one more year teaching and I'm starting my own business.
